🟠BTC Assets on Tribe

As a tooling suite for bitpacs, Tribe aims to offer the bitcoin native DAO experience to any communities based on or using bitcoin. There are many entities that can benefit from using bitpacs such as normal traditional companies, non-profits, charities, meetups, investment funds, start-ups, etc. In addition, we're seeing an explosion in new communities based around BTC Assets or standards/protocols. This list is growing rapidly with the increased interested in bitcoin L2's, metaprotocols, and fungible standards. Initially, Tribe will offer support, tooling, and integration for ordinals and runes. Eventually, Tribe intends to offer support for more communities built around BTC based assets or standards.

Holding & Receiving inscriptions on Tribe

To view BTC Assets within a bitpac users can toggle on the "SHOW BTC ASSETS" option from the treasury page.

This will open up an additional card in the treasury page that displays the value of BTC assets held by the bitpac. Above the cards users will see the total value held in the treasury, which is the spendable native BTC held + total value of inscriptions held. Both cards display the same treasury taproot address, so either bitcoin or inscriptions can be sent to one bitpac treasury address. Under the two cards a new section will be viewable showing more details and previews of BTC assets held

This means ordinals can now be received and viewed within bitpacs, and co-owned ordinal treasuries can be managed on Tribe.

Sending inscriptions on Tribe

Once a bitpac treasury owns inscriptions they can be sent out of the bitpac the same way BTC would be sent, via a passed proposal.

When creating a proposal the user can select "send inscription" as a proposal action. Once selected another dropdown will appear for the user to select which inscription from the bitpac treasury they would like to send. Once entering the intended receive address the proposal to send an inscription can be created. This proposal will function the same as others, and will need to be passed in accordance with the voting threshold. Upon the proposal being passed, the transaction will be broadcasted and the inscription will be sent.

NOTE: Upon finalizing a proposal to send an inscription users will receive an error unless there is sufficient BTC in the bitpacs treasury to pay for transaction fees and the Tribe service fees. Any bitpacs storing / sending inscriptions should make sure to also fund their bitpac with BTC for fees. Fees are paid for from a bitpacs BTC balance and Tribe uses the best industry standards to avoid inscriptions being spent within fees.
